Finally Bought Flowers

Mon. 6/29/09

Jenna, Sarah, and I went to Dundee Nursery to buy flowers today. I bought red geraniums, white alyssum, and some purple flowers (the name is escaping me). I’m only filling one planter, a hanging basket, and the whiskey barrel this summer. I never seem to find the time to spend outside with the flowers. The tomatoes have already been neglected. They’ve been crying for Miracle Gro since we got back from China.

My patience with the kids was shot about an hour after lunch. Sarah needed attention about every 5 minutes. Jenna was in a “naughty” mood. She didn’t want to listen to anything I had to say.

I got the flowers planted this afternoon. Thankfully, Tim came home to help with the kids. They keep us constantly on the go.

We’ve been working on Sarah’s table manners. Every meal is a constant repetition: small bites, chew with your side teeth, chew with your mouth closed, use your spoon and fork. We have to keep reminding ourselves that Sarah is only 2 ½ and it takes time for her to learn new skills and change old habits.
