Tues. 6/9/09
We took our time at breakfast today. Margaret and Jenna did some power shopping while Sarah and I went to Starbucks to hang out and have coffee. Can’t wait to make my own mocha at home! We met up at Subway to get a couple of BMT sandwiches for lunch. They tasted great!!
In the afternoon, everyone in our travel group met at the White Swan Hotel for the traditional “Red Couch” group photos. Sarah was the only kid that wasn’t dressed in traditional Chinese clothes. It wasn’t for lack of trying. We tried to put a Chinese dress on her. She put up a fuss and started to cry. Then we tried a Chinese pajama outfit. That didn’t work either. We went to the hotel early so Molly, our guide, could talk to her about putting on a Chinese outfit. Molly talked to her for 15 minutes, but wasn’t successful either. Sarah ended up wearing her favorite orange panda t-shirt from the Great Wall of China. We took lots of group and family photos on the couches and by the indoor waterfall. Don’t know if we got any photos where all of us were looking at the camera at the same time. Oh well!!
On Wednesday, we go to the U.S. Consulate office to finalize Sarah’s Visa and get her passport. It'll be our last full day in China.
