St. Barnabas Church Welcomes Sarah / Happy Father’s Day!

Sun. 6/21/09

This morning, Jenna and Sarah posed for pictures in the front yard before we left for church. At church, everyone welcomed us back with great enthusiasm. We’re very blessed to have such a warm and caring church community. Sarah wasn’t fazed one bit by all the people and new surroundings. She took it all in stride. She greeted people with “Ni Hao” and both kids did some “hi fives” with David Helgen. The snack after the service was more of a meal today. The kids were in heaven munching on fresh fruit, cookies, and sandwiches. Sarah had 3 bowls of fruit! Hope she doesn’t think we eat like that every Sunday!

Sarah rebelled against a nap today. She cried and refused to settle down after lunch. Tim and I should have given up after 30 minutes, but we persevered until all three of us were worn out and upset.

Happy Father’s Day! We celebrated “dad” with homemade and store bought cards and presents. I traced Sarah’s handprints on a colored piece of paper and folded it into a card. Jenna created a “book” for her dad. She drew pictures of all the things they enjoy doing together. She spent a couple of hours putting it together. Jenna is getting to be quite a good artist.
