Finally Worked in the Yard

Sun. 6/28/09

Sarah had a mini tantrum getting dressed for church today. She didn’t like the outfit I picked out for her to wear. I got it in Guangzhou, China. It’s really cute – red and white gingham checked top with matching pantaloons. It has ladybug buttons and pockets. I don’t think Sarah liked the pantaloons. During her tantrum, she ripped off two ladybug buttons, so she had to wear a different outfit.

Tim and I finally got a chance to work in the yard. The kids enjoyed playing outside. Tim dug up some barberry bushes that weren't doing well. We were glad to get rid of them because of the thorns. We hope to transplant potentilla bushes that need more sun. I started pulling weeds without my gloves. Got a hold of a stinging nettle plant and got tiny blisters on my fingers. Ouch!

Jenna and Sarah quarrel every day. We can’t wait until they can get along better. The big question is HOW LONG will it take??

Jenna seems to be acclimating to her big sister role a little better the last couple of days. She’s been helping Sarah tie her shoes (when Sarah will let her), wash her hands (when Sarah will let her), and hold her hand going down the stairs (when Sarah will let her!). It sure takes time to change behaviors!
